Search Warrant Served- One person in custody- PJPD/OCSO
On April 26, 2018 at approximately 7:40pm, members of the City of Port Jervis Police Department and the Orange County Sheriff Office Special Operations Group executed a Port Jervis City Court ordered “No Knock” Search Warrant at the second floor apartment located at 96 Franklin Street in the City of Port Jervis. Officers arrested Carlos Tirado, age 31, of the above address and charged him with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree with Intent to Sell (B Felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree (Class D Felony) and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree, (A Misdemeanor). A quantity of cocaine, a scale and packaging materials were recovered during the search.
Additionally, Tirado was charged with Reckless Endangerment in the 1st Degree (D Felony), Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer in the 3rd Degree (A Misdemeanor), Reckless Driving (Misdemeanor) and several vehicle and traffic law violations. The charges are the result of an investigation into an incident that occurred on April 16th at about 11:39pm in the City of Port Jervis where the defendant led police officers on a vehicle pursuit and was later apprehended during the service of this search warrant.
The defendant was arraigned in Port Jervis City Court and remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $25,000.00 bail pending further court appearances.
The Orange County District Attorney’s Office is prosecuting this case.
