Multi-Agency Investigation into reported Sexual Assaults
David J. Rivera, age 39, of Port Jervis, New York was arrested on 11 April, 2019 by Detectives with the Port Jervis City and Deerpark Town Police Departments and charged with the following misdemeanor offenses stemming from a joint investigation into allegations of inappropriate sexual contact.
The following charges have been filed for two alleged incidents occurring in the City of Port Jervis:
- Two Counts of Forcible Touching, Class A Misdemeanors
- Two Counts of Sexual Abuse in the 3rd Degree, Class B Misdemeanors.
- One Count Harassment in the Second Degree, A Violation.
The following charges have been filed for an alleged incident occurring in the Town of Deerpark:
- Three Counts of Forcible Touching, Class A Misdemeanors.
- Three Counts of Sexual Abuse in the 3rd Degree, Class B Misdemeanors.
Mr. Rivera was arraigned by the Hon. Judge Laurie Osowick in Deerpark Town Court and remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $2000.00 cash bail for the charges filed in the City of Port Jervis and $2500.00 cash bail for charges filed in the Town of Deerpark pending further court appearances. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted jointly by members of the City of Port Jervis Police Department, Town of Deerpark Police Department and Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
